Sept. 10--A police officer's ammunition sent bullets flying in a Macon house fire early Monday.

Firefighters were called at about 4:20 a.m. to a house fire near Downing Circle at Kent Drive, which is not too far from Southwest High School in a neighborhood that sits between Williamson Road and Eisenhower Parkway.

Crews on the scene reported "bullets flying everywhere" at the police officer's home, but no one was hurt.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
