Sept. 08--YORK, Pa. --
Joanna L. Seibert's time in prison is nearing the end, according to the York County District Attorney's Office.
Seibert, 41, of Dillsburg, was convicted of homicide by vehicle in October 2010 for the October 2008 death of Northern York County Regional Police Officer David Tome, who she ran into as he was working an earlier accident scene on Route 15 in Franklin Township.
Tome, 31, a father of two, was killed instantly, according to trial testimony.
Seibert was sentenced to one year minus one day to five years minus one day and reported to York County Prison on May 9, 2011 to begin serving that sentence.
The York County District Attorney's Office recently received notice Seibert will be paroled. A release date was not given.
Sherry Tate, director of the state parole board's Office of Policy, Legislative Affairs and Communications, said Friday that the parole board and the state Department of Corrections do not disclose dates when criminals are released from custody "for safety reasons."
York County Prison Warden Mary Sabol said the parole board will notify the prison of Seibert's release date.
