Idaho Deputy Injured in Traffic Collision

A Canyon County Sheriff's Deputy was injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle collision at the Caldwell intersection of Ustick and Weitz, the sheriff's office reports.

Sept. 04--A Canyon County Sheriff's Deputy was injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle collision at the Caldwell intersection of Ustick and Weitz, the sheriff's office reports.

The collision happened about 9 a.m. The deputy, who was on duty and driving a marked patrol car, was transported to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell with injuries described as "non-life-threatening." He was treated and released.

The other driver, a man from Caldwell, had minor injuries but was not transported for treatment.

At the request of the sheriff's office, Idaho State Police are investigating the collision. No further information about what happened was immediately available. The name of the deputy and the other driver have not been released.
