Ex Tenn. Officer Pleads Guilty to Threatening Prosecutor

A former Knoxville Police Department officer, facing a felony charge for threatening a state prosecutor, today pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Aug. 02--KNOXVILLE -- A former Knoxville Police Department officer, facing a felony charge for threatening a state prosecutor, today pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Donald Scott Clark, 30, pleaded guilty to harassment by electronic means.

Sessions Court Judge Tony Stansberry approved a plea agreement in which Clark received a suspended sentence of 11 months 29 days, was placed on supervised probation and ordered to pay court costs. No fine was imposed.

Clark is already on probation from a conviction of providing alcohol to a minor. He was alleged to have posted on his Facebook page threats to the prosecutor in that case, Steve Sword, who has since become a Criminal Court judge. Clark originally faced a felony retaliation charge.
