Police Arrest Pa. Driver For Trying to Run Over Man, Dog

Police have arrested a 56-year-old man accused of trying to run over another man with his car multiple times in Monongahela.

MONONGAHELA, Pa.

Police have arrested a 56-year-old man accused of trying to run over another man with his car multiple times in Monongahela.

Officials said Anthony Pellegrino is accused of trying to drive over Frank Rhone as Rhone walked his dog along First Avenue.

Investigators said Rhone fired a shot at Pellegrino in self-defense after the second time Pellegrino tried to run him over.

Pellegrino has been charged with criminal attempt, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. He is being held in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Authorities said Rhone will not be charged at this time.
