U.S. Park Officer Dies Assisting Man

Sgt. Michael Boehm suffered an apparent heart attack while assisting an injured man on the C&O Canal in Washington, D.C.

A U.S. Park Police officer suffered a heart attack and later died Friday night while assisting a man on the C&O Canal in Washington, D.C.

Sgt. Michael Boehm was taken to Georgetown University Hospital where he died, according to NBC4.com.

The injured man apparently jumped off Key Bridge onto the towpath.

Boehm joined the Park Police in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Corrina, and son, Christopher, the station reported.

Funeral arrangements have not been made as yet.
