Baltimore Officer Accidentally Shot by Another Officer

A Baltimore police officer was accidentally shot in the arm by a Baltimore County officer Monday afternoon while he was serving a warrant as part of a task force.

A Baltimore police officer was accidentally shot in the arm by a Baltimore County officer Monday afternoon while he was serving a warrant as part of a task force, according to The Baltimore Sun.

The unidentified officer was wounded at around 2:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Pinecove Avenue in Odenton.

The wound was described as a "through and through" and not considered life threatening

The officer was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center as a precaution.

At some point while officers were securing the inside of the residence, an unidentified Baltimore County police officer discharged his weapon, striking the officer, Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesman Justin Mulcahy told the newspaper.

Police arrested Vernon Andre Jackson, 38, at the scene with carrying 27 pounds of marijuana. Mulcahy said the arrest was part of an ongoing drug investigation by a regional task force.
