SAN DIEGO-- Two officers were injured on Thursday in a scuffle after chasing a robbery suspect who ran away during a traffic stop.

According to San Diego police, officers pulled over a car with a busted windshield in the 5500 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at about 10:10 a.m.

The passenger jumped out of the car and ran off. Police chased him and immediately noticed he was a robbery suspect who had a no-bail warrant.

Police caught up to the man near Kesling Street and Doliva Drive, near Madison High School.

Officers used a Taser to subdue the man. However, he somehow was no longer immobilized and a struggle ensued between him and officers.

Police eventually took the man into custody and transported him to a local hospital to be checked out.

Two officers were injured during the struggle with the man. Both were taken to a local hospital complaining of hand pain.

The driver of the car also ran away. Police are looking for him for questioning.
