SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. --

Sun Prairie police said they needed to use a Taser to get a man under control following an incident that led to a standoff Thursday night.

The incident started about 8:45 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Granite Way.

According to police, they had received information that a fight was happening near a home on Granite Way. Police said once officers arrived, they were informed one of the people involved, 32-year-old William Breuch, had gone inside and had access to weapons.

Police said they set up a perimeter and saw the man inside with a long barreled gun. They also said the man refused to come outside, which is when a reverse 911 call was sent to neighbors, asking them to stay in their basements until the incident was over.

Breuch finally left the home about two hours later, according to police, but police used a Taser on him after he didn't follow officers' orders.
