SAN DIEGO --

San Diego Police raided the Occupy San Diego camp early Wednesday morning.

Officers and sheriff Deputies in riot gear marched into the crowd at the Civic Center around 2 a.m. sending many of the protesters rushing to gather their belongings.

Many protesters left the area but those that did not were arrested.

Bullhorns were used to inform the crowd that while it is legal for them to peacefully demonstrate, it is illegal for them to keep their personal property on public land.
