Two Houston Officers Injured in Collision With Alleged Drunk Driver

A truck driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI after he hit a Houston Police unit, injuring two officers Saturday night.

HOUSTON

A truck driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI after he hit a Houston Police unit, injuring two officers Saturday night.

According to police, two officers were traveling eastbound on Berry Road at around 9:35 p.m. A flatbed work truck was headed westbound, when the driver unexpectedly turned left, pulling in front of the police car, causing it to slam into the side of the truck.

The driver of the police car was taken to a hospital with cuts on his hands, and his passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries, including a possibly broken hip.

The driver of the truck, Sagred Ubaldo, 51, was not hurt and was charged with intoxicated assault with a motor vehicle.
