HOUSTON --

A man killed in his southwest Houston home was the result of a drive-by shooting that left a second man wounded.

Houston police said someone drove by a mobile home in the 7300 block of Ashcroft Drive at Evergreen Street around 3 a.m. and opened fire.

"Upon arrival, (police) found several spent shell casings. Upon walking inside, they found two victims who appear to be Hispanic males -- one dead and one was transported to Ben Taub (Hospital)," said Chris Porche with the Houston Police Department.

The injured man's condition was not released.

Homicide investigators are speaking with neighbors to try and piece together why the victims were targeted.

"We are just trying to gather leads and information," Porche said.

Sources told KPRC Local 2 that the shooting may be gang-related.

Investigators said they do not have a description of the vehicle or any suspects.

The victims' names were not released.

So far this year, there have been more than 160 homicides in the city of Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
