PITTSBURGH --
Pittsburgh police are searching for two men wanted for stealing coins from a South Side laundromat.
Police said the men, pictured in a surveillance photo released Tuesday, broke into the Super Suds on Wharton Street last month.
The men caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to the washers while trying to pry open the machines to get the coins, police said.
The laundromat has been hit by burglars five times since August.
Maureen McArdle is a regular at the laundromat and said she can't believe the crimes.
"It had to be somebody that really needed drug money or someone who was really desperate. It's sad," McArdle said.
Police said the robbers made off with about $1,000 in coins.
Detectives are trying to find out if the crimes are connected.
If you recognize either man you're asked to call police at 412-488-8326. Callers may remain anonymous.
