Texas Theft Suspect Uses Baby to Hide Identity

One of three suspects accused of stealing from a Walmart store used a baby in an attempt to hide from surveillance cameras.

GONZALES, Texas --

One of three suspects accused of stealing from a Walmart store used a baby in an attempt to hide from surveillance cameras, Gonzales police said.

The group went into the store in Gonzales on Oct. 6.

Inside, police said the man broke a lock on a glass case to grab several car stereos.

One woman entered the store with two bags, while the other tried to use a baby to cover her face as she walked past cameras in the store.

The group left after about 15 minutes. Gonzales police said the trio stole $1,500 worth of stereos and other merchandise.

The drove away in a black Monte Carlo. it may have the new seven-digit Texas license plate.
