Oct. 14--A New Oxford man was placed in Franklin County Jail after leading police on a high-speed chase on Route 30 Friday morning.

State police at Chambersburg said Patrick Eugene Williams, 36, was driving a vehicle at 120 mph on Route 30 in Greene Township and refused to stop at 1:58 a.m. today.

Williams continued to lead police into Adams County and had troopers and officers from Franklin and Adams counties chasing him, according to police.

One of the state police vehicles chasing Williams crashed during the pursuit, police said.

The vehicle Williams was driving eventually crashed as well after almost hitting another vehicle that had three people inside, according to police.

After his vehicle crashed, Williams got out and ran off, police said.

He was arrested shortly after and taken to Franklin County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding arrest, police said.
