MISSOURI CITY, Texas --

A man was arrested Wednesday after punching two officers in the face and holding a SWAT team at bay for hours, Missouri City police said.

Officers were called to the Century Apartments in Sienna Plantation on Sienna Springs Boulevard around 9 p.m. Tuesday on a disturbance call.

Missouri City police said a man refused to come out of his apartment after an argument with his wife.

After several hours of failed negotiations, SWAT officers barged in and used a Taser gun to get the man under control and handcuff him at 1 a.m. Wednesday, officials said.

During the arrest, police said the man punched two officers in the face. They will be OK.

The suspect's name was not released. He was charged with two counts of assault on a peace officer.
