LOUISVILLE, Ky. --

A Louisville man faces several charges, including assault of an officer, after an incident at a home on Applegate Lane.

Police said Todd Eric Thompson wouldn’t leave the home and police were called. According to the arrest report, Thompson was in a bedroom at the home even though an emergency protective order was in place to prevent him from contacting one of the women in the home.

When Thompson, 38, was arrested, he became irate and kicked the arresting officer in the eye, according to the report. Police said he also tried to place his handcuffs in front of his body in order to escape.

According to the arrest report, Thompson’s eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he smelled like alcohol.

Thompson was charged with violating an EPO, resisting arrest, third-degree assault and alcohol intoxication.
