Fla. Motorcycle Officer Hits Rear of School Bus

A police officer was injured when his motorcycle rear-ended a school bus Monday morning in Coral Springs, according to investigators.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. --

A police officer was injured when his motorcycle rear-ended a school bus Monday morning in Coral Springs, according to investigators.

Coral Springs police said Officer John Malvin was riding his police motorcycle north on Coral Ridge Drive when it hit the rear driver's side of a Broward County school bus that was trying to turn south from Northwest 36th Street to Coral Ridge Drive.

Malvin was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered a broken shoulder, kneecap, finger and several ribs, police said. He was airlifted to North Broward Medical Center.

The driver and the three children who were on the bus were not hurt, according to police.

The investigation continues.
