Nebraska Officer Saves Baby Choking on Balloon

A Lincoln police officer is credited with saving the life of a choking 1-year-old Saturday evening.

LINCOLN, Neb.

A Lincoln police officer is credited with saving the life of a choking 1-year-old Saturday evening.

Police said the girl was choking on a balloon and was not breathing when officer Ryan Duncan came to the rescue at about 6:30 p.m.

Police said Duncan performed "back blows" until part of the balloon was dislodged.

The girl was taken to an area hospital for surgery. She was expected to be OK, police said.
