SAN ANTONIO --

San Antonio police officers rescued a couple in their 70s from a fire on the West side early Friday morning.

Firefighters said the fire broke out just after midnight inside a shed behind a home on 19th Street and Delgado.

When officers arrived, they evacuated the couple and the occupants of a home behind the shed.

The couple was checked out by paramedics, and as a precaution, a man was taken to the hospital. Firefighters said they are expected to be OK.

Firefighters contained the fire to the shed. Investigators said the cause of the fire could be electrical.
