S.C. Deputy Suspended, Accused of Assault on Suspect

A Spartanburg county deputy has been suspended without pay, accused of assault and battery of a suspect in custody.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. --

A Spartanburg county deputy has been suspended without pay.

Sheriff Chuck Wright says deputy Clayton Bradley is accused of assault and battery of a suspect in custody.

Wright told News 4 the State Law Enforcement Division is looking into the allegations made by the suspect Collier Bruce Simmons.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the sheriff said he could not comment any further.
