Massachusetts Officer Extricated From 2-Car Crash

A Harwich police officer had to be extricated from a cruiser this morning following a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 124 and Williams Avenue around 7:30 a.m. .

July 18--HARWICH -- A police officer had to be extricated from a cruiser this morning following a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 124 and Williams Avenue around 7:30 a.m. .

He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital by ambulance, but the extent of his injuries are not known at this time.

The cruiser was struck by a Ford F-150. The driver of that vehicle was not injured, according to reports broadcast on police scanners.

Harwich firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the officer from his cruiser. . Harwich police and an Accident Reconstruction team from Orleans Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
