AUBURN, Washington --

Two police officers were hit in an accidental shooting at a gun range in Auburn on Thursday afternoon, the Auburn Police Department said. Both officers are OK and their injuries are not considered serious.

Auburn police Commander Mike Hirman said a Renton police officer was hit in the thigh and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is in stable condition. A Tukwila police officer was hit "superficially" in the abdomen, just below his vest and was taken to Auburn Regional Hospital. It's possible the Tukwila officer was hit by debris, rather than a bullet.

Auburn police were conducting training when the shooting happened, Hirman said.
