MUNSTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. --

A Cambria County police officer was injured in an accident while responding to assist another department.

The accident happened just before 3 a.m. in the 1500 block of Admiral Peary Highway in Muster Township, state police said.

Cresson Township police officials said Officer Joshua Dignan was heading to a call in Ebensburg when he lost control of the police cruiser, apparently due to wet roads conditions.

Police said the cruiser left the road, hit a parked car in a driveway, and then hit the side of a garage, knocking a part of the garage down.

Dignan was transported by ambulance to Altoona Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

State police were continuing to investigate the accident.
