CONCORD, N.H. --

A man lost control of his car and hit two police officers when he spilled coffee on his shirt, police said.

Concord police said William Soler, 35, of Concord, was heading toward the intersection of Loudon Road and East Ferry Drive when he spilled a cup of coffee he was drinking and hit the accelerator, swerving into a police cruiser at a water main work site.

Soler's green Chevy Geo hit two officers, and one was sent flying over the hood of the car, police said.

"The officers' injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening," said state police Sgt. Gregory Ferry.

Both police officers were taken to Concord Hospital.

No charges have been filed, but police said their investigation is just beginning. According to police, Soler was not impaired when the accident occurred.
