ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio --

A detail officer suffered minor injuries late Thursday night after an accident near Riverbend.

Hamilton County dispatchers said Deputy Matthew Sturgill, a corrections officer, was directing traffic after the Brad Paisley concert when he was hit by a Jeep.

The Jeep then took off, but police were able to locate the driver, Robert J. Helton, 22, of Cincinnati, nearby.

Investigators said Helton was fleeing another crash in the River Downs parking lot when he hit Sturgill.

Sturgill was taken to University Hospital, where he was treated for an arm injury and released. Helton is charged with assured clear distance, marked lanes violation, reckless operation, leaving the scene of an auto accident and OVI.

Deputies said Helton's blood-alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit.
