Inmate Injures Colorado Corrections Officers

Two jailers were injured after an inmate stabbed them with scissors while he was being transported to jail, according to The Denver Post.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. --

Two jailers were injured after an inmate stabbed them with scissors while he was being transported to jail, according to The Denver Post.

During a pat down, Paul A. Savage used a pair of scissors to try to attack the three employees who were transporting him, Kate Porras, a spokeswoman for Grand Junction's Police Department told the newspaper.

Two of the employees were treated for minor cuts. None of them required hospital care, reported The Denver Post.

After Savage was restrained, he was transported to jail.

Savage was serving a 4-year sentence after being found guilty of sexual assault on a child. He will now face additional charges, including two counts of first-degree assault, according to the newspaper
