According to police, two Pittsburgh police officers jumped into a river at the North Shore early Saturday morning after a man fell into the water.

According to police, two Pittsburgh police officers jumped into a river at the North Shore early Saturday morning after a man fell into the water.

Police said they jumped into the water after they were unsuccessful in trying to pull the man out of the river using a pole. The officers who jumped in were not injured.

The man who fell into the water was conscious and alert when he was taken to an area hospital, according to dispatchers.

There was no word early Saturday morning on how the man fell into the water.
