Two Indy Officers Crash During Pursuit

An Indianapolis police officer is in the hospital after crashing into a fellow officer's cruiser Tuesday morning. Both Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were chasing down a suspect fleeing police when the crash happened.

May 24--INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis police officer is in the hospital after crashing into a fellow officer's cruiser Tuesday morning. Both Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were chasing down a suspect fleeing police when the crash happened at 38th and Illinois Streets.

One of the officers was put into an ambulance and taken to Methodist Occupational Health after complaining of shoulder pain. According to a police report, the officers were operating their vehicles under emergency conditions while in pursuit.

The person the officers were after ditched his vehicle and ran. Officers set up a perimeter in the neighborhood near Butler University and eventually apprehended the suspect.
