First Annual Blue Valor Run Kicks Off in NYC

The first annual Blue Valor Run began its 226-mile trek from New York City to the nation's capital on Thursday morning.

The motorcycle ride boasts more than 120 participants from across the country who are paying tribute to the 72 officers who lost their lives during 9/11 and all officers who have died in the line of duty.

The trip was organized by The P.O. Ken Tietjen Memorial Foundation in cooperation with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and the Twin Towers Initiative.

Volunteers participating in the event have helped raise more than $80,000 in support of The P.O. Ken Tietjen Memorial Foundation and the NLEOMF.
