Third Pedestrian in One Week Struck by Fla. Cruiser

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office patrol officer hit a woman walking in the 5300 block of Avenue B early Thursday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office patrol officer hit a woman walking in the 5300 block of Avenue B early Thursday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said the woman darted out in front of the officer.

The woman was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer did not suffer any injuries. Police have not provided the names of those involved.

This is the third pedestrian struck by a JSO vehicle in the past week.
