A Eugene motorcycle officer was shot and killed Friday afternoon while attempting to stop a car, according to The Register-Guard.
After allegedly shooting Officer Chris Kilcullen, the female driver sped away, and led officers on a 20-mile chase before she was taken into custody.
Cheryl D. Kidd was taken into custody after a standoff that involved a SWAT team, reports indicated.
It remains unclear what led Kidd to allegedly pull out a handgun and shoot the officer.
Kilcullen was a 12-year veteran of the force and a father of two. He was the first Eugene officer killed since 1934.
