BALTIMORE --

WBAL-TV 11 News has learned that the case of a police officer who claimed to have been shot by another person in a Baltimore parking garage earlier this week may have taken a turn.

The officer in question had told police he was shot by a man inside the garage at Water and Frederick streets on Tuesday night as he was retrieving a personal item from his vehicle.

But sources familiar with the case told 11 News on Thursday that investigators are pursuing the possibility that the shooting was accidental.

Sources said there is no evidence that any other person was involved.
