A New Orleans police officer suffers minor injuries when his police cruiser was involved in a crash on Interstate 10.

NEW ORLEANS --

A New Orleans police officer suffered minor injuries when his police cruiser was involved in a crash on Interstate 10 early Sunday.

Investigators said the crash happened at about 3 a.m. near the westbound Franklin exit on Interstate 10.

Eyewitnesses said it looked like a car rear-ended the cruiser.

Officers closed two lanes of traffic on I-10 while they investigated the crash.
