Federal Prisons Officer Dies During Training

He was running an obstacle course when he collapsed last week.

Senior Officer Christopher Cooper suffered a fatal heart attack while participating in a training exercise at Leavenworth Prison last week.

Cooper, 38, was running an obstacle course with other members of the Special Operations Response Team when he collapsed, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

Fellow officers immediately began CPR but were unable to resuscitate him.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.
