Mich. Officer Recovers After Being Struck by Car

A Frankenmuth police officer is recovering after he was struck by a car while directing traffic at Zehnder’s Snowfest Saturday night.

SAGINAW, Mich. --

A Frankenmuth police officer is recovering after he was struck by a car while directing traffic at Zehnder’s Snowfest Saturday night.

Police told TV5 the officer, whose name was not released, suffered minor injuries when a motorist misjudged a turn and hit him.

The officer suffered injuries to his ribs and legs.

Police said the driver was obeying the officer’s direction at the time of the accident and was traveling at a low-speed. The driver was released from the scene.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.
