Boat Crash On I-95 in Florida Sends Two to Hospital

A boat lands on a concrete wall in the middle of Interstate 95 after a pickup truck hauling the vessel crashes.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. --

A boat landed on the wall in the middle of Interstate 95 on Friday morning after a pickup truck hauling the vessel crashed.

According to a crash report released by the Florida Highway Patrol, the Ford F-350 hauling the boat was traveling south on I-95 north of Sample Road at about 7 a.m.

The driver of the truck swerved to the left after a vehicle changed lanes in front of him and slowed down, police said.

The boat trailer fishtailed, causing the truck's driver to lose control and slam the truck into the concrete barrier wall, according to the FHP. The boat trailer broke loose, and the boat flew off, struck the median wall and knocked over a light pole. The boat landed on top of the wall.

Debris from the light pole hit two other vehicles, according to police.

The drivers of the truck and one of the other vehicles were transported to North Broward Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

One northbound lane and three southbound lanes were closed until 9:40 a.m.
