DENVER, Colo. --
A 31-year-old man was arrested Friday morning after fighting with officers who tried to remove him from a SkyWest flight, Denver police said.
Police were called just before 9 a.m. when Thaddeus Rule refused to follow the flight crew’s instructions, said Denver Police spokesman Matt Murray.
When Rule wouldn’t follow federal guidelines, the flight’s captain asked him to leave the plane. Rule refused, even after officers arrived. The officers boarded the plane, and Rule assaulted both officers during an altercation, according to police.
Rule was taken into custody. Both officers were taken to the hospital. They were treated and released for unknown injuries.
According to Murray, Rule was also taken to the hospital before he was booked into Denver County Jail. He bonded out on Saturday.
Passengers on the flight experienced a lengthy delay while police investigated the incident. Police will ask the Denver district attorney to consider filing felony charges against Rule.
