Ark. Police Officer Totals Patrol Car

A Fayetteville police officer was injured in a wreck early Monday morning when he lost control of his patrol car.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --

At 2:15 a.m. Monday, Fayetteville Police Sgt. Chris Moad was responding to a fight at the IHOP on Wedington Avenue in Fayetteville, when his police car hit some water and lost control at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Arbuckle Lane.

The car spun around and the back end hit a telephone pole, totaling the car, police said.

Moad suffered only minor injuries in the crash.

Moad was one of the officers injured during a fight at the same IHOP restaurant earlier this year in which two brothers got Officer Tiffany Lindley's baton away from her and beat her with it, sending her to the hospital for several stitches on her head.
