Fake Cops Force Way Into Texas Home, Rob Occupants

MISSOURI CITY, Texas --

Men posing as police officers forced their way into a Missouri City home, investigators said.

Missouri City police said three armed men, who identified themselves as police officers, forced their way into a home in the 3300 block of Aegean Drive about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"(The homeowner) ran to his daughter's bedroom. She was asleep, so he hid her in the closet. He realized his fiancee was downstairs watching TV and he heard her screaming," Detective Russell Terry said. "He then thought the police were raiding his home. When they started talking, he kind of knew that something wasn't right because of the language they were using."

The masked men threatened to kill the homeowner and his fiancee if they did not give them money, police said.

The victims handed over their wallets and the men ran out of the home, detectives said.

Police have not released descriptions of the robbers or their getaway vehicle.

The homeowner, his fiancee and their daughter, who was asleep, were not injured.
