INDIANAPOLIS --
Two boys, ages 12 and 13, were arrested late Thursday night after they burgled the Nora branch of the Post Office, Indianapolis police said.
Officers were called to 1300 E. 86th St. at about 10:45 p.m., finding the boys coming out the front doors of the post office.
"Both males had a steak knife in their front right pocket," according to a police report, and one of them dropped a small fan as officers arrived.
The boys told officers that they went into the Post Office to get warm as they walked home from a grocery store.
Officers said they found the door leading to the service area of the building was not locked and then found that several pieces of mail had been opened.
One of the boys told police that he had urinated in a trash can at the Post Office.
The boys were arrested on charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
