Motorcyclist Dies in Crash With Missouri Police Car

A motorcyclist died when he ran into the back of a parked police car early Saturday morning in Kansas City.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --

A motorcyclist was killed overnight Saturday when he ran into the back end of a police car, investigators said.

Police said the motorcycle was going south on 71 Highway at about 2 a.m. Saturday when it ran into a police car that was parked on the shoulder of the on ramp at Hickman Mills and Blue River roads. Investigators have not determined how fast the motorcycle was going or any other factors that might have contributed to the crash.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released until relatives have been contacted. The police officer was unharmed.
