OMAHA, Neb. --

An Omaha police officer suffered minor injuries when he was dragged by a car Thursday night.

Investigators told KETV Newswatch 7 the officer, who has not been identified, stopped a silver Ford Escape near 129th and Maple Streets.

Inside the SUV, were two men, and a woman with a baby in her lap.

When the officer reached into the vehicle, it sped off, dragging the officer a short distance. That officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, after the SUV drove off, the two men inside jumped out and ran away. At that point the woman slid over into the driver's seat with the baby, and continued driving. She was stopped a short time later. The baby was okay.

After a search of the area, one of the men was captured.

The search continued late Thursday night for the second man.
