SPRING HILL, Tenn. --

The parents of a Spring Hill police officer who died after a car wreck are suing the driver who hit him.

A grand jury decided not to indict Billy Stafford for the crash last February.

Cpl. Jeremy McLaren suffered a broken leg after, investigators said, Stafford ran a red light and crashed into his patrol car. Investigators also found McLaren was going more than 30 miles an hour above the speed limit.

The officer died of a blood clot in the hospital.

Channel 4's news partners at the Columbia Daily Herald report McLaren's parents are seeking $6 million in that lawsuit.
