N.H. Corrections Officer Indicted on Drug Charges

A corrections officer at the Rockingham County Jail was indicted on charges he purchased drugs in Epping for an inmate at the prison as part of a joint investigation.

Sunni George of Epping is charged with buying oxycontin in a store parking lot with the intention of delivering it to an inmate.

The investigation was conducted by the Rockingham Sheriff’s Department, the Rockingham County Department of Corrections and with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

George has been working at the jail for at least five years, and if he's convicted of the two felony charges, he could face up to 27 years in prison and a $300,000 fine.

George's arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 24.
