PITTSBURGH --

Two police officers and a suspect were hurt after a traffic stop in the Hill District/West Oakland area of Pittsburgh on Tuesday afternoon.

An officer tried to pull over a vehicle on Oak Hill Drive at about 3:40 p.m. Soon after that, the officer was calling for backup.

Channel 4 Action News' Keith Jones reported that one officer was head-butted and the other was punched in the face. Both were taken to UPMC Mercy for treatment.

A Taser was used on the suspect, who had visible bruising on his face but was not believed to be seriously hurt. He was also taken to the hospital for observation.

Jones reported that a large amount of cocaine was found on the suspect, who faces drug and assault charges.

Police have not yet said why his vehicle was initially pulled over.
