CINCINNATI --

Proving that crime can happen to anyone, Hamilton County's sheriff was a victim early Wednesday.

Police said that Sheriff Simon Leis was working out at the Cincinnati Athletic Club on Shillito Place downtown at about 3:45 a.m. when someone broke into his unmarked cruiser.

The cruiser's window was smashed and a cell phone, White Castle gift cards and a bag containing a blanket were taken.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Barnett said officers found nothing to indicate the thief knew whose car he or she was breaking into.

No arrests have been made so far.
