ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio --
Law enforcement in Belmont County are continuing their search for two men who broke into a store early Wednesday.
Investigators said an alarm went off at Blue Ribbon Rentals in National Road. When deputies responded, the burglars were still inside but the men fled before police could apprehend them.
Police searched near the store, including by air, until around 7 a.m. Crews also used thermal imaging to try to find burglars.
The store manager, Paul Russell, said it doesn't appear anything was stolen. The store has surveillance video, but it was not immediately known if the burglars were caught on camera. Police were reviewing it Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff Fred Thompson said police don't have a description of the burglars except that one of the men was wearing a ski mask.
Russell said police were quick to respond. In addition to state troopers and deputies, a K-9 unit from Bellaire joined in the search.
"(I) looked and there were cops everywhere," he said. "I just couldn't believe the response. They were on the highway. The whole field was covered. I couldn't believe how many cops were here."
