GRANTS PASS, Ore. --

Snow in southern Oregon knocked over a tree right onto a police car.

The 12-inch diameter tree came crashing down on a snowy stretch of Highway 199 near milepost 42 on Thursday morning.

The Oregon State Police trooper was on patrol in a line of cars when the tree hit the passenger side window and the hood.

The front of the car was damaged.

The trooper went to the hospital but wasn’t seriously injured.
