An Atlanta police officer on a motorcycle was injured Tuesday after being struck by a van while en route to help a fellow officer in trouble.

An Atlanta police officer on a motorcycle was injured Tuesday after being struck by a van while en route to help a fellow officer in trouble.

The crash happened after 9 p.m. on Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard at Spring Street. The officer was headed to another officer-involved accident at Ponce de Leon Avenue at Peachtree Street when the collision occurred.

Police said the officer involved in the first accident was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The second officer was stabilized by an emergency crew at the scene and also taken to Grady.
